Assemble Events Website

Working with events expert to launch new business website

Website design and copywriting

Emma Darwin is a higher education events specialist with more than a decade of experience delivering worldwide events. Launching Assemble Events in early 2020, Emma needed a new website to showcase her expertise and connect with customers.

Following consultation, I worked with Emma to write, design and build the new Assemble Events website using WordPress. Our goal was to write authentic content that reflects the company’s strategy while creating a refreshing and clear website that could grow with the business.

Optimised website content

Following a discovery session to understand the needs and unique selling points of Assemble Events, I set to work drafting content for the new multi-page website. To optimise content for users and search engines, I integrated keywords and phrases following a stage of SEO research and competitor analysis.

After uploading the approved copy, I created a bank of images to use across the website, using the SEO research to strategically name image descriptions and alt tags. I also used testimonials from previous clients, adding beneficial outbound links to the site.

Website design and build using WordPress

After sharing a selection of WordPress themes, I built the website using the Colibri theme. Emma reviewed the website at various stages so we could refine web pages through iterations. This flexible approach meant we got the website live in under five weeks.
